The total number of traffic accidents in Doral increased 16% in 2018 compared to 2017. In real numbers, that was an increase of 166 traffic accidents year over year according to data provided by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
Fortunately, traffic injuries only rose 7% despite the 16% overall increase in traffic accidents. In real numbers, there were 425 total injuries in 2018 compared to 397 in 2017.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities related to traffic accidents in 2018. That’s down from the two traffic related fatalities that occurred in 2017.
Pedestrian involved accidents did jump by 43%. In 2018 there were 20 pedestrian involved accidents compared to 14 in 2017. Fortunately, none were fatal.
Bike crashes increased 25% jumping from 12 in 2017 to 15 in 2018. Again, no bike accidents were fatal.
